Ryan Kyung-il Chung, AIA is a licensed architect and LEED AP. He is the Founder of Performative Architecture + Design (PA+D) and an Assistant Professor at the CBU School of Architecture. He has been working in architectural practice for the past 15 years. He previously worked for HMC Architects in Ontario and JFAK Architects in Los Angeles. His work spans various building types ranging from higher education and K-12 projects to housing and religious projects both in the United States and South Korea. His research agendas focus on Spatial Fluidity, Parametric Design, and Building Performance.

He was born in Seoul, South Korea, and earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Kyonggi University. After he worked in practice for a few years, he moved to Los Angeles to study at the University of Southern California, where he received a Master of Architecture. He also received a Master in Environmental Building Design from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
